Account deletion

Delete your Justneed account.

Two ways to do it. Either path removes your personal data within 30 days, in line with our Privacy Policy. No questions asked.

Delete from inside the app

Fastest. Takes 30 seconds.

  1. Open the Justneed app on your phone.
  2. Tap the Profile tab (bottom right).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Settings.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Confirm by typing DELETE and tap the red button.

If you can't access the app — phone lost, account locked out, app uninstalled, or any other reason.

  1. Fill in the email address you used to sign up.
  2. Optionally include your Digital Skill ID (format JN-2026-XXXXX) for faster lookup.
  3. Submit. We verify ownership via the email, then delete within 30 days.

Request account deletion

We send a confirmation email to verify it's really you. Deletion happens within 30 days of confirmation.

Request received.

Check your email for a confirmation link. Click it to confirm the deletion request. Your account and personal data will be deleted within 30 days of confirmation. If you change your mind, ignore the email and nothing happens.

What we delete

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

Deleted within 30 days

  • Your name, email, and password hash
  • Your Digital Skill ID (the code becomes invalid; QR scans return "not found")
  • Your profile photo, skills, experience, education
  • Uploaded files: resume, cover letter, any documents
  • Job swipes (like / skip / save)
  • Job applications submitted through Justneed
  • In-app messages with recruiters
  • Notification preferences and device tokens
  • Search history and saved searches

Retained (legally required or anonymised)

  • Anonymous, aggregated analytics that cannot be linked to you
  • Financial records (invoices, payment receipts) — kept 7 years per Swedish accounting law
  • Security and abuse logs — kept up to 90 days to prevent fraud, then deleted
  • Encrypted backups — destroyed within 35 days of the original deletion
  • If you applied to jobs: data the recruiter received remains with them (they become a separate data controller — contact them directly)

How long it takes

Day 0 — You submit the request (in-app or via form on this page).
Day 0 — We send a confirmation email to verify ownership.
Day 1-2 — You click confirm. We mark your account for deletion.
Day 1-7 — Your account is immediately deactivated. You're logged out everywhere. Your Skill ID stops resolving.
Day 7-30 — We permanently delete your personal data from active systems.
Day 30-65 — Data is removed from encrypted backups as those backups expire.

Other questions

Can I just take a break instead of deleting? Yes. Open the app → Profile → Settings → Pause notifications. Your account stays alive but you stop receiving anything from us. Come back whenever.

I want to download my data before deleting. Open the app → Profile → Settings → Export my data. You'll get a JSON file with everything we hold. We recommend doing this before deletion, especially if you want to keep your verified credentials.

I already deleted the app. Can I still delete my account? Yes. Use the form above. Email-based deletion works for everyone — you don't need the app installed.

I want to delete only some data, not the whole account. Email privacy@justneed.ai with details. Under GDPR you have the right to request partial erasure or rectification.

I changed my mind after confirming. Reply to our confirmation email within 7 days and we'll cancel the deletion. After Day 7 the deletion is in progress and can't be reversed.

What if my deletion isn't done within 30 days? Email privacy@justneed.ai — we'll investigate. You can also file a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), the Swedish data protection authority.
